Welcome to Caim National School

Welcome to our new Caim National School Website. We hope you enjoy reading all about our school and the activities we enjoy. Don’t forget to keep an eye on our class pages to see the latest class updates and what the children have been doing recently.

Congratulations to the winners of the A final, Kerry who beat Tyrone.

And well done to the winners of the B final, where Wexford beat Dublin.

Thanks to all involved, especially Mr. Fitzpatrick and Mr. Kavanagh.

3rd-6th class had a Christmas themed table quiz this week! They showed great knowledge in all of the rounds which tested them on Gaeilge, music, Christmas around the world, maths and other subjects! Well done to the team called ‘The Elves’ who came first place after reaching a tie breaker with another team.

Well done Infants! You were brilliant 👏. We had a little party to celebrate 🥳 and extra playtime, as promised!

And that’s a wrap! We have had to the best couple of days. All our hard work definitely paid off! The children of Caim N.S. delivered a great show, enjoyed by all. Well done to everyone involved, especially all our stars on stage. And huge thanks to everyone in the community who helped make this happen. Merry Christmas from Caim NS.

Rehearsals are in full swing getting ready for our school Christmas concert! Pupils are putting in a great effort to put on a memorable show for all our families and friends. The concert takes place on Wednesday and Thursday 13th/14th December at 11.30am in Caim community centre. Some tickets for both days are still available to purchase from Liz in the office.

Another lovely week! We have been busy practising for the “Christmas Concert” and we were busy learning about the “magic” of science with Catherine. We were sewing in juniors and we had 6th class visit to read to us as Gaeilge.

3rd – 6th class also did some cool experiments with Catherine Doyle as part of Science week! We peeled layers from an onion, added iodine and looked at them through a microscope to see their cells. We also got to see Catherine make some elephants toothpaste. There were shrieks of delight as the foam expanded very quickly! Thank you Catherine!

Do you know what chromatography is? Well juniors to second class in Caim do, thanks to Catherine Doyle and her helpers! We saw how the colours in the markers separated to show how they were made.

The grand finale was very impressive! We made elephant toothpaste 🐘🦷 and a big mess!

Thanks to Catherine and her helpers for a fun filled lesson in the wonders of science!

Our topic this month is homes. We designed, constructed, created and even made some dinners. Busy, busy! Thanks to all the helpers who bought passes in the siopa!

We practised lots of fine motor skills whilst completing our maths stations and we used our tuff tray for lots of letter recognition games in junior infants.

We read, we predicted, we recounted, we sequenced, we analysed characters and then we had a colouring challenge! Great job everyone and big well done to the boys!
