Sports Day is one of the most eagerly awaited days in the school calendar. Usually forming a huge part of Active Week, it is a day fully dedicated to being active and outdoors with our classmates!

Every June we have our sports day. This is one of the most eagerly anticipated days of the school year. We are blessed with the facilities we have here in Caim NS in which we can cater for a wide range of stations for our sports day. Each teacher has a different station and the classes alternate around the stations during the day. Examples of our stations include basketball, soccer, GAA, athletics, obstacle course, egg and spoon race, 3 legged race, tug-o-war and much more. This is always a great day and we look forward to the next one.

Sports Day 2022

Sports Day took place on a beautiful 20th of June 2022! The children participated in fun races, soccer, gaelic, obstacle course and basketball. We loved our new sacks for the sack races. In the afternoon we did our class sprints on the grass! Well done to all our winners and we hope everyone had fun! Thank you to Robbie and Ava who came to help us too!

Sports Day 2021

We had a great day for sports day this year. A huge congratulations to our medal winners for the sprints, but also a huge well down to everyone who took part in all the activities throughout the day!

Sports Day 2019

Last year we shot some hoops in basketball, took part in tug-of-war, ducked and dodged in dodgeball, raced 3-legged and with a spud and spoon, aimed for the target in a penalty shoot-out, completed an obstacle race and practiced our Gaelic Football/Hurling/Camogie skills. The younger classes also took part in parachute games. The outgoing 6th class entertained us with some active games and we finished the day with class races and a massive school relay race around the pitches! Some of us were lucky enough to earn medals for our quick sprinting but everyone had a great day outdoors in the sun!
