Green- Schools

At Caim N.S., under the initiative of An Taisce, we participate in teaching the children about a sustainable future through the Green-schools Programme.

To date, we have achieved 5 flags-

1. Litter & Waste
2. Energy
3. Water
4. Travel
5. Biodiversity

Over a 2 year period, the designated committee learn about the current theme, by gathering information, attending workshops and relaying important messages to both our school community and wider, local community.

We are currently in year 1 of working towards our 6^th flag-

Global Citizenship- Litter & Waste.

The aims of this theme are:

• To raise awareness on how looking after our environment aids people all over the world.
• Promoting and facilitating “Active Citizenship”.
• Integrating the Global Citizenship Litter & Waste ethos into overall Green- School programme.
• Make an improvement in the Litter & Waste management in our school.
