Thank you to Joe and David from Enniscorthy Fire Department who came to visit 3rd and 4th class today to talk to them about fire safety. The children learned lots of ways to prevent fires and what to do when they come across one. We learned about the importance of having smoke alarms, having an escape plan and unplugging our devices at night time along with lots of other important advice.

1st – 3rd class had a fun-filled day for their school tour to Just4Fun Kids in Carlow SETU. There was lots of activities such as inflatables, tug of war, dodgeball and more! Everyone enjoyed the activities and were full of smiles all day!

Well done to Leitrim and Dublin who reached the A final of the Lunchtime League. After a great match, Leitrim got the win. Thanks to Mr Dunphy for stepping in to referee the game. Well done everyone!

3rd and 4th class are ready for summer after creating these mirrored sunglasses which reflect their ideal summers day!

As part of Wellbeing week, we had the lovely Emma from Wexford Reiki in with us to show us some breathing exercises and yoga poses, practice positive affirmations and teach us gratitude. At the end of each session she demonstrated a quick sound bath for us using her wonderful instruments. The children really enjoyed this and only wished they had more time with Emma! Thanks to Emma for a wonderful day.

Well done to all the boys and girls in our school who took part in the annual spring clean of our community. We collected lots of rubbish from the roadside and the ditches.

3rd-6th class had a Christmas themed table quiz this week! They showed great knowledge in all of the rounds which tested them on Gaeilge, music, Christmas around the world, maths and other subjects! Well done to the team called ‘The Elves’ who came first place after reaching a tie breaker with another team.

3rd – 6th class also did some cool experiments with Catherine Doyle as part of Science week! We peeled layers from an onion, added iodine and looked at them through a microscope to see their cells. We also got to see Catherine make some elephants toothpaste. There were shrieks of delight as the foam expanded very quickly! Thank you Catherine!
