In Caim N.S. we commit to being fit, get up and get ACTIVE, there’s no time to sit!
The pupils and staff of Caim N.S. are committed to being active, at home and in school! In 2016/2017 we applied for and were granted our Active Flag. This award recognises the dedication of the children to get their bodies moving and use exercise throughout their days for a healthy mind and a healthy body. The children are currently working towards renewing our Active Flag in the near future!
The Active School Flag is a non-competitive initiative which highlights the importance of physical activity and sport in schools and communities in which they are based.
Well Done Window
Each month we update our Well Done Window which celebrates our Sporting and Active Achievements. They are displayed on the window where we have Assembly every week and also face the carpark!
Active Schools Week
Each year Caim NS participates in Active Schools Week. We get to wear our sports gear all week and each day is full of ways to get up and get active, both in class and outside. This takes place in June. During Active Week 2022 we participated in Sports Day, 10@10, Danceathon, Wake up and Shake Up, Circuits, Playground Games, Maths Trail, Scavenger Hunt, Walk in the Woods and a Game Blitz including Gaelic, Rounders, Basketball, Dodgeball, Tug of War and Tag Rugby.
Active Homework
It is important to be active throughout the day. This is why in Caim N.S. we have Active Homework during certain parts of the year. We are working towards ensuring each child achieves the recommended 60minutes of activity daily.
GAA
GAA Coaching
We are very lucky in Caim to have the expert coaching of our local GAA Coaches. All the children from Junior Infants to 6th Class participate in Gaelic Football and Hurling/Camogie throughout the year!
Mini 7s
Our Senior students take part in the Mini 7s league, check out pictures from our most recent performances here.
Rackard League
Caim have an excellent tradition in the Rackard League for Football, Hurling and Camogie. Our ladies are the current Roinn A Camogie Champions! Click here for more information.

Lunchtime Leagues
We are very lucky that we have the facilities in Caim to host our own Lunchtime Leagues during the year. A big thank you to the teachers that volunteer their own lunchtimes to help us! Check out our most recent competitions here.
